Under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021–2027, the implementation of the project titled “Green Climate Change Adaptation Solutions for Smart and Resilient Cities in BSB – Green Urban Resilience” (Project No: BSB00006) officially began following the signing of the grant contract in July 2024.
The Green Urban Resilience project, to address the growing impacts of climate change in cities, particularly the rising urban heat stress and heat island effects.
The total budget of the project is 1.290.188,88 €, of which the European Union funds 90% and a duration of 26 months, the project brings together five partners from Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Greece. By combining green and blue infrastructure solutions, scientific expertise, and community engagement, the project aims to make the Black Sea Basin’s cities more sustainable, resilient, and better prepared for the challenges of climate change.
