{"id":1988,"date":"2025-07-12T12:45:58","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T12:45:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lightpink-raven-650665.hostingersite.com\/?p=1988"},"modified":"2025-08-13T13:26:45","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T13:26:45","slug":"new-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greenurbanresilience.com\/?p=1988","title":{"rendered":"Kick-off Meeting for the &#8216;Green Urban Resilience&#8217; Project Held"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The kick-off meeting for the &#8220;Green Urban Resilience&#8221; project, which is supported by the European Union and aims to increase the climate resilience of cities, was held on November 6-7-8, 2024, hosted by the project leader, Uzunk\u00f6pr\u00fc Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attended by project partners from T\u00fcrkiye, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Greece, the meeting focused on outlining the project&#8217;s roadmap. Throughout the three-day event, the partners planned the joint steps to be taken on critical issues such as reducing urban heat stress, creating heat maps, developing local climate resilience strategies, and increasing public awareness in the cities of the Black Sea Basin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, the project&#8217;s full title is &#8220;Green Adaptation Solutions to Climate Change for Smart and Resilient Cities in the Black Sea Basin.&#8221; Running from July 2024 to September 2026, the project aims to develop green infrastructure in urban areas and mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is implemented under the leadership of <strong>Uzunk\u00f6pr\u00fc Municipality<\/strong>, in valuable cooperation with <strong>Istanbul University-Cerrahpa\u015fa, Faculty of Forestry<\/strong>, as well as <strong>Sozopol Municipality<\/strong> from Bulgaria, <strong>Batumi Municipality<\/strong> from Georgia, and <strong>Kavala Municipality<\/strong> from Greece.
